I really wanted to post something today, and I dredged this up. I'm sorry that it's nothing really new, but this is one of my favorite pieces I've done. A couple of years ago, I was on this sketchup kick (still am really) and was modeling way more than I was drawing! Any and everything was fair game for my models. I'd walk around with my Canon camera and my iPhone and take thousands of photo's of everything. I saw this bug one day and thought that i'd make a really cool DSRV. So I did a small sketch, then began the modeling process. It took me about 2 days to model and about 8 hours to color. The cool thing now is that the model is mine, so if I ever need it for anything else, it's right there and finished.

snappin! coulda done with a few lights on the arms/camera diodes etc but this is raw.

Wow... sketchup? Impressive, seriously. I need a camera bad. It's so hard to find free reference images and even so they don't fit quite what i want.

lol, seriously!? Dude, I use getty images most of the time, or just plain old google images. As for a camera, I have a really nice DSLR, but I use my cell phone most of all:] Believe it or not, you always have everything you need to be as creative as you want, you just gotta sit down and do it!
