IT'S TOOL TIME

Description

I love it when an artist shows their tools, and explains them. For some reason, it really makes me wanna draw!
So, here are mine. I'll explain em. From left to right:

My lead holder. I bought when I saw that Joe Mad uses the same one in a interview:} Actually, it's my favorite pencil in the world! You can make the lead really sharp, or u can use it really dull too...!
Next to it is my second fave pencil, my trusty 0.3 pencil. This what I use to do all those buildings and backgrounds with. You never have to worry about sharpening your pencil to get a really thin line, this thing stay's pointy. only drawback is that you can't press down too hard, lead breaks really easily.
I have an 0.7 too. That's for thin lines in the mid ground, or for finishes.
Next are my erasers. I have a thick one as my all purpose eraser, and then there's my thin, tough stuff eraser. I saw J.Scott Campell use one o these, and I bought one. One of my favorite. You can get the tip real pointy, and erase between bricks, or windows whilst doing backgrounds. Then, the mother of all erasers, (my brothers, I stole it;} Sakura electric eraser! This thing has like 50 horsepower! I love it, and I prolly go through a pack of batteries a week!
Ok, now my color pencils. I have an 0.5 lead holder for my red lead. I use this to layout backgrouns. Real handy for city shots. Then I have a green and purple one. I use the purple one panel borders only cause for some reason the purple doesn't photocopy that well. I also found this really cool non repro blue marker, that's fun to sketch with.
lastly, my inking supplies: I love love love micron pens. They're beautiful! and cheap. I also use a brush after watching Sean Murphy get down with one of those bad boys...Ink refil, and a copic marker...
Last, but never least is my homemade light box. I had this floresent light sitting around my house, so I bought a bulb, and some wood, and built this thing. $100's of dollars cheaper than others it's same size, and works just as well.

So, that's it. I know I'm nuts for doing this, but I think it's cool. Snap a pic of your tools talk about em, I'd love to see what everybody uses....

(you ever notice how pornographic talking about equipment (<see) is?)
